Samsung Galaxy S3 Gets Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update


Samsung has just started to push Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to the International Samsung Galaxy S III GT-I9300. The Galaxy S III is Samsung’s flagship device of the year and is also it’s biggest worldwide selling device. Samsung has given the Galaxy S III top priority in Software Updates that’s why Samsung keeps on updating this device to the latest versions of Android.

- Android 4.1.2 – JZO54K
- Multi-View (Multi-Windows Multitasking, same as in Note II)
- Page Buddy

After months and months of waiting and watching smaller carriers like T-Mobile push out their Jelly Beans, Samsung Galaxy S3 users on AT&T can finally get in on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. The update, which should start rolling out over-the-air any minute now, is currently available via Samsung Kies and weighs around 738MB. I wont even pretend I’ve ever updated using that method, but just be prepared to install some extra software on your computer. Here’s some of the goodies you can look forward to in Samsung’s TouchWiz’d Jelly Bean:

Samsung Reports $7.4 Billion in profit for Q3 2012

Samsung today reported third quarter earnings that were its highest ever, and most of the credit belongs to the runaway success of the company’s smartphone division. In its announcement of record profits of $7.4 billion, the company states, “Samsung’s flagship GALAXY S3 smartphone, along with diverse smart device offerings which encompass high- to low-end products, have been the key drivers in raising profit margins.”

The leaked screenshot above reveals that the Jelly Bean update (version L710VPALK7) for Sprint’s Galaxy S3 (SPHL710) will begin Thursday, October 25 and according to the instructions above, it will be rolled over the air (OTA).

In addition to Jelly Bean, Sprint Galaxy S3 users will also get other “enhancements” such as “LTE system selection improvements” and “Exchange interaction improvements (manual sync will try to send items in outbox if initial send failure.)

Vodafone and O2-branded Samsung Galaxy S3 handsets will receive Android Jelly Bean today, ahead of unlocked SIM-free variants.

The news was confirmed by The Inquirer, which reports ‘the rollout of Android 4.1 (AKA Jelly Bean) has begun and will be available across all networks over the coming weeks, pending software testing and approvals.’
